My chosen method of exercise is walking. I can do it almost anywhere at almost any time. I have heard of walking referred to as the simplest, easiest, least expensive method of exercise. Least expensive does not mean 100% free. There is no charge to go out and walk around. Walking at the local park is free, but walking at local amusement park is not. Therefore, I will agree, walking can be free but not 100% free. Walking requires I wear shoes. Walking across a bare foot is not for me. Soft grass feels nice but most of the time grass feels like tiny sharp points. It may not be as bad as walking across a floor filled with Legos, but I can't walk on grass for an extended period of time. Walking on a typical street sidewalk is doable, but again, I can not do it for an extended period of time. I need padding otherwise my heal starts to hurt. Walking for me requires having a good pair of shoes. Previously I spoke about knowing if is it time for a new sneakers ? My answer was, yes. Ne...
Picture source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_Is_40 It is tough to stay focused on losing weight and today was one of those unexpected hiccups. Instead of doing our usual basic Saturday routine, we veered away. Losing weight is something I need to do while still engaged in my everyday world. Our day did not go as I would have liked but, it did go as it needed to go according to hiccup. Picture source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turbo_%28film%29 The past 24 hours were definitely not conducive to losing weight. Last night we ended our day by watching "This is 40." Today I skipped breakfast. Lunch consisted of a Costco polish dog and a slice of pepperoni pizza. Following lunch we went to the movies and watched, "Turbo." Let me add I had soda and popcorn at the movie theater. Picture source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grown_Ups_%28film%29 The late afternoon and evening was not much better. We took a stroll around a local street festivity, on...
Oh! My! Goodness! Tomorrow is Monday, August 20th. It is the first day of school for my kids and I am treating it as my 1st day too! Not my 1st day of school but the 1st day in my new chapter in the book of My Health Journey. To prepare myself I decided I need to be more organized. Not perfect, but better than I have been in the past. In doing so, I will be able to be more consistent in planning, scheduling, and managing my time, my health, and my emotions. It may sound weird to mention my emotions, but, yes, my emotions. When I am well prepared, I do not stress out, I do not get tempted to stress eat. When I am well prepared, I able to handle life's hick-ups much more easily. The little black table on picture on the bottom right is what my desk looked like. I "managed" to do all my work on that little table. Not much room, but I made it work, and handled one thing at a time as best I could. Sometimes I wanted to have a book open, my laptop open, and a notebook a...
