Walking With 5lbs

Image
Today I was home all day. I spent the day doing boring housework, cleaning up toys, laundry, dishes, sweeping, vacuuming, etc. After a day of doing housework, I just do not feel like "exercising." I am pooped and all I want is a hot shower and bed. Knowing this is how I would feel at the end of the day I decided to do something a little different. When I got up this morning, I decided I would wearing weights around my ankles. 2.5lbs on each ankle. I did all my housework while wearing 5 extra pounds. I'm enjoying a cup of coffee as I write this post, then I will be heading off to bed. I hope to see some positive results when I step on the scale in the morning. One day at a time. Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. I will resist chocolates, cookies, and cupcakes. I love all these things very much, but I love me more and I want to be a better me, a lighter healthier version of me. Feel free to follow me throughout the day via Twitter. Twitter.com/mrsgjo...

How do I Start Jogging?

I can walk a pretty good distance, but jogging/running eludes me. Anyone have ideas how to get started? I'm restarting "Couch to 5K" the week of 9/19. My starting weight was 201lbs. I've lost 24lbs so far and feel good about it. I have another 25-27lbs to go. So I am about at my midway point. I've made it half-way! That gives me hope I can make it the other half of the way. I picked the week of 9/19 to start this new phase of starting to jog because it coincides with the week Season 12 of the Biggest Loser starts. I enjoy the show and watching/sharing in their journey helps motivate me to keep going. I may not work out every day 6-8hours a day, but I will reach my goal. So if anyone has ideas how I can start jogging, please let me know. Share how you got started, or what did not work for you. Send email, MrsG.Journey@gmail.com , Twitter, Facebook or comment here on my blog. Thanks.

It's JUNE!

It's June, half way through 2011 already? This is a busy month for me, my school term ends this month and summer school starts the same month. My little man graduates from preschool, a big milestone for him and me. As a mother, I am so happy to see him reach these milestones and at the same time am sad to see him grow up so fast. My baby girls will be going into day care one day a week just to give me a breathing break. What I will do in those three long/short hours, I have not totally decided yet. I want to catch up on educational reading, or maybe start the "Couch to 5K" program, or maybe pick up a copy of Jillian Michael's "Master Your Metabolism Cookbook" or the "Unlimited", or sleep, ... like I said, I have not decided yet. Whatever I decided to do, it will not be to catch up on housework. Not that I intend on neglecting it, it will get done as it always is. Whatever I decided to do, those 3 hours once a week have to be spent on improving ...
