This morning I am using butter on my toast. Going to find out how much butter I really get to use for 1 Tbsp on a slice of bread. I will use Country Crock Light spread.
My chosen method of exercise is walking. I can do it almost anywhere at almost any time. I have heard of walking referred to as the simplest, easiest, least expensive method of exercise. Least expensive does not mean 100% free. There is no charge to go out and walk around. Walking at the local park is free, but walking at local amusement park is not. Therefore, I will agree, walking can be free but not 100% free. Walking requires I wear shoes. Walking across a bare foot is not for me. Soft grass feels nice but most of the time grass feels like tiny sharp points. It may not be as bad as walking across a floor filled with Legos, but I can't walk on grass for an extended period of time. Walking on a typical street sidewalk is doable, but again, I can not do it for an extended period of time. I need padding otherwise my heal starts to hurt. I think I have given up getting a gym membership, finding a baby sitter so I can exercise and having an adult walking buddy. My approach, which seems to be working, is to put my two toddlers into the double stroller and go for a walk. I try to time it so they either eat snacks on the trip or right before they take a nap so they sleep the bulk of the walk. So far, so good. Last week I walked a total of 16 miles. This week I will try to beat that mileage by at least one mile. Today was a good start, I walked 4.5 miles. One day at a time, one mile at a time. I have also picked up a Nike+ sensor but am not totally sure how to use it. It worked great twice but the past 2 walks have given me bad readings. I must be hitting something that causes the sensor to say I am walking at a pace of 0/mile. Today I know the path I took ends up being 4.5 miles and the sensor said it was 0.9miles. Jillian Michaels came out with a new DVD. One Week Shred and you could lose up to 7 pounds in 7 days. A seven day commitment? I can do that! It was to be released March 3rd. Great! I got on line and per-ordered it. My plan was to do the DVD for one week and shed the 7 pounds before I went on my first camping trip with my son and his cub scouts. As I said, that "was" the plan. What happen was something else. The DVD took longer to ship and longer to arrive. The DVD was delivered a few days before my trip. I did not want to risk being sore during the trip, so I decided to start the Monday after our trip. *sigh* We went on our camping trip and had a great time. It was awesome sleeping under the stars and listening to the coyotes howling and the little cubs sounded adorable. The frogs in the creak were very vocal.
