My chosen method of exercise is walking. I can do it almost anywhere at almost any time. I have heard of walking referred to as the simplest, easiest, least expensive method of exercise. Least expensive does not mean 100% free. There is no charge to go out and walk around. Walking at the local park is free, but walking at local amusement park is not. Therefore, I will agree, walking can be free but not 100% free. Walking requires I wear shoes. Walking across a bare foot is not for me. Soft grass feels nice but most of the time grass feels like tiny sharp points. It may not be as bad as walking across a floor filled with Legos, but I can't walk on grass for an extended period of time. Walking on a typical street sidewalk is doable, but again, I can not do it for an extended period of time. I need padding otherwise my heal starts to hurt. Walking for me requires having a good pair of shoes. Previously I spoke about knowing if is it time for a new sneakers ? My answer was, yes. Ne...
Losing weight, getting fit, running my 1st 5K, ... these are a few of my goals for 2014. I have tried before but have been unsuccessful. I feel I do a good job, for a while, then something happens and I put "my" goals on the back burner. What can I do differently in 2014? Set up smaller goals building up to one the big goals. I want to run my first 5K. Well, I need to get up off my butt and start walking, a mile, 2 miles, 3 miles, and keep decreasing the time it takes me to travel the 5miles. Yes, I am aiming to be able to run 5 miles so that when I run the 5K (3.3miles) I'm already building up toward another goal (running a half marathon). I also am aiming to run my first 5K by March, April at the latest. *sigh* I hope I am not being over zealous. By the way, I have heard of Couch to 5K and I do plan on using it. I use the LoseIt app to track my caloric intake. So far in 2015, I have logged everyday. While 5 days does not seem like a long time, it has been a challeng...
Today I did a better job than yesterday, but not by much. Overall it is a step in the right direction. Here is the break down: + Logged all my calories using LoseIt + Consumed less calories. - Was over my daily caloric budget. + Consumed healthier food. - Had too much food. + Drank more fluids. - Had 2 glasses of diet soda. + Did some physical labor - Should have walked more, tracked by FitBit Here are some snapshots from my lunch today. The food at the Soupplantation was yummy. I would h ave had a third plate, but did not want to go further over budget than yesterday. Here is a glimpse at my physical labor. I swept a drive way and collected a can full of leaves and twigs. Getting into the gym to workout is not really an option for me, so I find ways like this to workout.
