2010_0924 New Season of BL10

I'm excited about the new season of The Biggest Loser. This season I will be recording the show when it airs in my neck of the woods and watching it the following morning. The reason for this is, I am in class during that time slot. I'll also be listening to 2 podcasts based on the TV show. -- The Biggest Loser Cast found on iTunes and at http://mjmceach.libsyn.com/ -- Biggest Loser Fan Podcast also on iTunes and at http://biggestloserpodcast.com/ The first podcast may be doing a listener weight loss challenge, if enough people are interested. I am interested. It's all on the honor system and only percentages are revealed, not your actual weight. I am 5'6" and currently weigh 194lbs. My goal weight is 145lbs. 2010_0727 Still here

I'm still here and I've fallen off the wagon, or more like life has through some curve balls at me. None the less, I am back and trying very hard to get back on the wagon. I've got the LoseIt app so that helps me track my calories. I've decided to rejoing SparkPeople.com, it's free. I was a member of it a few years ago, before I became a mom. It is a socializing network centered around healthy living which weight loss is a major part of. Feel free to become my friend on there, I'd enjoy it.

2010_0606 Walking

I think I have given up getting a gym membership, finding a baby sitter so I can exercise and having an adult walking buddy. My approach, which seems to be working, is to put my two toddlers into the double stroller and go for a walk. I try to time it so they either eat snacks on the trip or right before they take a nap so they sleep the bulk of the walk. So far, so good. Last week I walked a total of 16 miles. This week I will try to beat that mileage by at least one mile. Today was a good start, I walked 4.5 miles. One day at a time, one mile at a time. I have also picked up a Nike+ sensor but am not totally sure how to use it. It worked great twice but the past 2 walks have given me bad readings. I must be hitting something that causes the sensor to say I am walking at a pace of 0/mile. Today I know the path I took ends up being 4.5 miles and the sensor said it was 0.9miles. 2010_0526 One Step At A Time

I can't believe I did it, but I did. I walked for 2 hours and 15 minutes pushing a double non-jogging stroller on 85%-90% non-paved trail. It was at a brisk walk to a slow jog at time, and walked most of the time at a faster pace. It feels good. Wish I had a walking partner, but my mp3 player and 2 toddlers will have to do. BTW, the 2 toddlers napped. I guess it was boring to them.

2010_0525 One Pound Closer at 3.98%

I started the Couch-To-5K program. It is designed to help you get from being a couch potato to 'running' your first 5K in 9 weeks Yesterday I went to my local mall and did some walking, brisk walking, and some fast walking that was close to slow jog. The program calls for actually slow paced running though. My excuse: running is not really allowed at the mall, it was crowded (to my surprise), and I was pushing a double-stroller with to very inquisitive toddlers. At any rate, my heart rate did go up and I broke a sweat as well. C25K: W1D1 - Done. I weighed myself this morning and I was pleasantly surprise to find out. Starting Weight = 200.6lbs My Current Weight = 192.6lbs Goal Weight = 145lbs. 47.6lbs more to reach my goal. Overall I have lost 3.98% I am very much looking forward to watching the Season Finale of The Biggest Loser tonight. Go Daris! Yes, I voted for Daris to take the 3rd and final spot.

2010_0523 New Start

I remember hearing that it dose not matter how many times you fall, what matters is that you get up one more time. My weight loss journey has been like that. I keep messing up, procrastinating, loosing 2lbs and gaining 1 back. Another season of The Biggest Loser is about to end this coming Tuesday. I will be watching. I realize there are many reasons why they have succeed and I have not. I can list many reasons but they will only be excuses. UGH. It is difficult, but I am not giving up. It may take me another year to finish my weight loss journey, but I will finish it. I am finally taking the dietary supplement pills endorsed by Jillian Micheals, The Fat Burner and The Calorie on a regular basis. I am trying to get used to using the "Lose It" app to count my calorie intake. Until I get the hang of the app, I am incorporating the SlimFast plan. It is very simple to follow and right now, I need simple. Don't get me wrong, I'm not starving myself. I do enjoy a healthy s...

2010_0521 Tuning In and Out

Life gets busy but I'm still here. If you've been following my blog you've noticed I have not had any entries in a while. But I am still trying to lose weight and am doing so. Slowly, but still making progress. So far I have lost 8lbs. It might not seem like a lot to some, but it is a lot to me. Follow my Twitter account and you'll be able to see how I make progress a bit more often than on this blog. It's tough to find time to blog with two toddlers running around me all the time.
