2010_0606 Walking

I think I have given up getting a gym membership, finding a baby sitter so I can exercise and having an adult walking buddy. My approach, which seems to be working, is to put my two toddlers into the double stroller and go for a walk. I try to time it so they either eat snacks on the trip or right before they take a nap so they sleep the bulk of the walk. So far, so good.

Last week I walked a total of 16 miles. This week I will try to beat that mileage by at least one mile. Today was a good start, I walked 4.5 miles. One day at a time, one mile at a time.

I have also picked up a Nike+ sensor but am not totally sure how to use it. It worked great twice but the past 2 walks have given me bad readings. I must be hitting something that causes the sensor to say I am walking at a pace of 0/mile. Today I know the path I took ends up being 4.5 miles and the sensor said it was 0.9miles. My next stop after this blog posting is to visit Nike and try to figure out how to get the sensor to record properly.

Also, I think I have found an online friend who is also a fan of The Biggest Loser and also trying to loose weight. It's nice to not feel so alone along this weight loss journey. Thanks C.T., your checking in on me makes a positive difference in my day.
