Busted Foot

Image
Ever hear of the saying, "No good dead goes unpunished."? I feel like that fits me right now. I spent the week running errands for me and for few friends, I helped take care of this and that, stayed up late getting things done, offered up a shoulder and sympathetic ear. I got it all done along with the piles of dishes and the hill of laundry. No complaints, I'd do it again. The downside to it all for me was when I went to take out some pieces of Corningware from the cupboard. Three fell out, two of them broke. One of them sprayed some shattered pieces my way and it hit my foot. The point of contact was something out of a movie. The piece hit my foot along the length of one of the smaller veins in my foot. It made a slit about 1/4"-1/3" long. Not very long. But, it also went in enough to be considered a puncture wound. A quick trip to the emergency room got me 4 stitches. *sigh* On the plus side, no one else got hurt and no glass was found in my foot. Today I

Cinnamon For Weight Loss?

Image
Rumor has it that cinnamon can help you loose weight by helping prevent your blood sugar levels from spiking. This thing interacts with that thing and it helps your sugar to stay balanced and ... Long story short. I like cinnamon and if it can help me in some way loose weight, I'm going to try it, within reason. I got this bottle cinnamon capsules at Costco on Sunday. The bottle says to take 2 a day with water and a meal. Without changing my eating habits, exercise, daily routine, etc. I will take 2 a day until the bottle runs out. Hope it makes a positive difference in my weight loss journey.

I stayed up playing on my netbook. I rummaged through YouTube videos.

A Turning Point?

I had a rough morning and had no time for breakfast. Mid-morning I was hungry and wanted more than just a piece a fruit to hold me off until lunch. I did what I would normally do, grab some chips and cookies that happen to within reach. I put them in ziplock bags because I needed to head out the door in 5 minutes. I stuffed TWO chips in my mouth and kept moving along to get everything I needed to head out the door. The salty chips skip jumped my tough and into my stomach they went. As I reached to grab the ziplock backs, I stopped and realized what I was doing and why I was doing it. I shook my head and figured I'd walk a little more today to balance it out. All of a sudden I realized I would not have time to work off the extra calories today... well, maybe, just this once, ... well, uhm, ... I couldn't do it. I put the chips down and grabbed an apple, banana and headed out the door instead. Wow! I still grabbed coffee but the fact I did  not eat those chips and cookies I tho

Sore, Sleepy, Tired and Over Budget

It has felt like a really long day for me today. On the surface, it looks like an ordinary Tuesday. When you look closer, I spent the day feeling sore, sleepy, and tired. As a result of those feelings, I easily went over my calorie budget for the day by around 700calories. My bad choices were using a new bread brand and using more bread than usual. Having an incomplete lunch thus leaving me hungry early. Also, I meant to eat half a BLT croissant, but it was so good, I ate the whole thing. I was not very active today, therefore I did not do anything to help alleviate going over my caloric budget. But as I said, I am sore, tired and sleepy. To help that part, I am going to bed about 30-45minutes earlier than usual. Let's hope this helps me set myself  up to have a better day tomorrow. On the plus side, I did enjoy day 1 of my FitBit Ultra.

FitBit Ultra

Back at the beginning of July I got the FitBit. I have been using everyday, but not necessarily synching with LoseIt. None the less it's a great way to help track the calories I burn. It's been about a week now that my FitBit seemed to not be working right. It would mysteriously turn on, flash "Start", "Stop", and "Searching". Last night I found a crack on the inside of the loop. I was not happy. I also was not looking forward to using the product protection plan I got on it for $14. After my usual morning chaos, I took my FitBit back to the store, with the original receipt and proof of protection plan purchased. I was pleasantly surprised to walk out of the store with my new FitBit ULTRA hassle free in under 15 minutes. Not only did they replace my broken FitBit, they upgraded it to the latest model! Yes, I will shop at Best Buy again. As I write this blog post, my new FitBit Ultra is docked and charging for its initial use. Hope to get some time

Blog vs Sleep

Been meaning to make an entry about this and that. Sleep seems to win. Tonight, I choose sleep minus 5 minutes, the time it took me to post this entry. I hope to post soon. Good Night.
