Halloween is Tomorrow

Oh my goodness. Someone brought in a large box, a box the size of a large shoe box filled with bit size pieces of chocolate. I am a choco-holic. They were pieces of chocolate covered toffee, caramel, coconut, almonds, etc,.... How do I know this. The temptation was too much for me. I caved. I had 9-12 pieces and I stopped myself. I know I could have easily made a significant dent to that box. *sigh* I survived. Tomorrow is Halloween. There will be candy everywhere. My kids will be going trick-or-treating and there will be candy in the house. Temptation is high. My plan. I will make sure I eat on time and have my snacks handy all day long.

Three Days Until Halloween

Halloween! I love Halloween candy, lots of bite size treats. This year I did not buy any candy to pass out. No great loss, we get 1 or 2 trick or treaters each year. I decided not to buy any candy this year because it is so tempting and I end up eating a bite size treat here and there. At the end of the day, all those bites add up to many calories. I do have two kids and they will end up bringing home candy. I have a plan. I will let them pick out a few piece to keep. The kid of candy I'm not really found of: Almond Joy, Skittles, Peppermints, ... they will not be able to pick the ones I really like: Kit-Kat, Twix, M&Ms, .... All the extra candy will be donated to a local church who sends them to our troops overseas. It's a win-win situation. Three days until Halloween. I am holding strong. I will survive Halloween without pigging out on candy.

Only Two Cookies?!

My treat of the day was 2 chocolate chip Mother's cookies. They were pretty good. I was surprised that 2 cookies were enough. I don't know if they were really enough, or maybe I'm finally really making my weight loss a subconscious priority. One day at time.

One at a time

I am so trying to not loose focus on my health. Chaos, chaos, ... ugh, my life is in an unstable roller coaster ride at the moment. Normally I would drown my sorrows in junk food. Today I had some light ice cream. Some, not the whole carton. *sigh* I managed to stay below my caloric budget for the day. One day at a time. Tomorrow morning I will pack my lunch so I do not get tempted by fast food drive-thru places as I run around town doing errands. I will also pack ice water. It will be warm day in our neighborhood. One day at a time. One pound at a time. One thing at a time.

Focus! Must Focus!

Today I became a premium member of Lose It! Tomorrow is day 1 of two challenges ending on October 31st. I am excited and determined to let these things influence me so I can lose weight more easily. I need to focus, I need to stay focused. I need to focus on making my health a priority. Losing weight will help me so many ways. Staying focused is a challenge because my world is full of chaos. I have had a lot of crazy chaos these past 2 days. It does worry me the chaos will overtake me and not only interfere with my weight loss but set me back. I refuse to let it happen and so I will focus even more on these two challenges. Losing weight is tough. Dealing with life's chaos is tough. I need a little magical fairy on my shoulder to constantly be whispering some guidance. Since I'm not going to find that magical fairy any time soon, I'm probably going to be tweeting a lot.  http://twitter.com/MrsGJourney

A Healthy Attitude

The day has drawn to and end and I did not start my juicing. I did make juice and place it in some containers for easy access. Unfortunately my planned day got shifted around practically last minute. My day started out with a 4 mile walk, a good thing. Then chaos showed up. On the plus side, I did count calories. I had almost a full cup of rice crackers, something I rarely have. Because I rarely have rice crackers, I did a poor job of guess-estimating their calories. At the end of the day I am finding out they pushed me over my daily caloric budget by 200 calories. Not too bad, but I'm not happy with it. Lesson learned. I can have them, but in smaller quantities. Tomorrow is a new day. I have my juice set up and a healthy attitude. If anyone is interested in chatting with me, connecting, or just keeping an eye on me throughout the day, I am on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mrs-Gs-Weight-Loss-Journey/198004820241527 I am on Twitter: https://twitter.com/MrsGJourney

Keep Trying

Juicing to lose weight. Juicing to detox. I gave it try for the first time, but apparently I did not do it accurately. I thought the main focus was eating vegetables. Apparently not. I did drink my vegetables, but often times I ate carrots sticks, celery sticks, slices of cucumbers, etc. Now that I think I know better I will try again. Tomorrow is Sunday, the first day of the week. I will get up and go for a 5 mile walk. I will drink my vegetables all day long and drink eight 8oz of water too. One day at a time. One pound at a time. I've also joined to challenges posted on Lose It! (loseit.com) Burn baby, burn! : A challenge to see who can burn the most calories. I do not expect to be among the top 10%, but I still plan on burning as many as possible. End Of October Weight Loss Challenge: A challenge to see who can lose the most challenge. Again, I do not expect to be in the top 10% but i will be working my butt off. Lose It! has started a premium membership secti

Juicing to Detox and / or Weight Loss

The temperature has finally decided to drop. We had been having so many days over 100*F it is just too much for me to bare. Hot days wear me out. The thought of going out for a walk simply walked out of my head. Today the highs were in the lower 80's, so I walked a 4.5miles at about 18.5min/mile. I felt lazy but I got a walk in anyway. A friend is doing a juicing diet for 10 days. I've heard a few people chime up it is such a good thing. Rumor has it you can lose up to 12lbs in 10 days. *sigh* With so little time for exercise and the weather no cooperating, AND my slip ups, ... I'm game. I will try it for 10 days. One day at a time. I got the vegetables Friday and blended some of them, made a few servings. Then I started to eat the vegetables themselves. I munched on carrots sticks here and there. Cucumbers with lemon and salt are very attractive! Yum. Today was my official Day 1 of juicing. It was tough. I feel like I want to more food even though I feel a bit full.
