Last Day of 2015

It's the last day of 2015 and I am sure many are making New Year's Day Resolutions. Yes, I am too. Every year I set out to loose weight and get healthy. I set myself up for success, but at the end of the year I do not see the results I would have preferred. This time I look back at what I have done and what has worked or not. This time I use that knowledge and personal honesty with my lifestyle to make my new resolutions.

Given my weight on January 1st 2014 and my weight on December 31st 2014, I am pleased to say I did loose weight. The downside, it is only 6lbs. *sigh* Well, while I am glad it is a loss and and not gain, it is still not good. That boils down to roughly 1/10th of a pound per week. I did manage to log LoseIt more often than not. I completed a couple of challenges on LoseIt and during that time, I did see my weight go down. In other words, "challenges" work for me. I guess it is because I focus more on the fun of the challenge than I do on loosing weight. Logging also works for me. I spend the time entering what I am eating and planning on eating. This make choose my snacks wisely. So, I need to log, log, log, and make it a "challenge".

My New Year's resolution is nothing special, nothing new. I want to loose weight, I want to be healthier. How I am going about it is. I am planning my weight loss strategy one month at a time. I will be realistic as to my daily schedule, responsibilities, and keep in mind all the usual wrenches that get thrown my way.

For the month of January I plan on:
  • Logging everything I eat using the Loseit app,
  • Participate in the LoseIt app's challenge to log every day for the month of January,
  • Walk at least 9,000 steps every day,
  • Participate in the LoseIt app's challenge to walk 9K a day in January,
  • Playing on Wii U Fit every other day for at least 20 minutes, and
  • Drink 64 oz of water a day.

Happy last day of 2014 and here's to a successful and fun 2015!
