Temptation Averted With White Lie

Milk chocolate is a big temptation for me, dark chocolate even worse. White chocolate does nothing for me. Sometimes I feel blue and reach for chocolate. It does not fix anything but it does make me feel better for a brief moment. Unfortunately, I have one piece and then another because they are so small. One more little piece can't hurt? Well, one can't hurt, but several little ones can.

In effort to help myself not over self-medicate on chocolate, I decided to get a regular size bar and enjoy it. In doing so I found myself eating only half of it. I got to eat chocolate and it did not turn into a mountain of chocolate. This made me feel very happy with myself. I am no longer afraid of chocolate.

The other day I was feeling a bit blue but there was no chocolate in the house. My husband was going to the store and I asked him to bring my back a Kit-Kat or a Twix. This is what he brought back ...

If I don't open it and eat it, he feels he failed and other negative things begin to bubble up between us. If I eat one, it won't suffice for me and I spiral downward. One little one is not enough and 4-100 is way too many. What to do? What to do?

I opened the packages up and took 3 out of each and gave the rest to the kids. At the end of the day the rest "accidentally" melted and had to be tossed out. A little white lie to help us all out.
