2025 New Chapter: Soft Start

Hello World!

Looks like I have been gone for nearly two years! I’m back to continue my journey to losing weight and better health all around. That is not to say I have not been making progress. I did slow down while I made other things in my life a higher priority. But, let me toot my own horn for a second. From. August 2024 to September 2025 I managed to shed 40 lbs., 2 pant sizes and finished up my college degree. Yay me.

There is still a lot going on in my world but my health is important. The more weight I shed, the easier it is for me to move around. It keeps getting easier and easier to sit on the floor and get back up. I’m not jumping up off the ground, but I can get up with no assistance. I am seeing and feeling improvement.

Why start blogging and tweeting again now? What works for me to help me focused, stay motivated, and make progress is blogging and tweeting. Blogging is a way to talk to myself, document my journey, reflect on my choices (both good and bad ones), and share my journey with others. Tweeting is those quick day to day things that pop in my head, cross my path, or playing with my phone to keep from eating things that move my goals further away.

Another thing I do is listen to podcasts. I listen to them while I walk, go to the gym, drive, get ready for bed. Keeps my mind focused. One particular podcast I enjoy is Dave Jackson’s podcast, “Logical Weight Loss” He shares his journey, successes, challenges, set backs, traveling for work, change of address move, … and so on. Well, he stopped in 2024 and it left me feeling a little alone, like I lost my weight loss buddy. I do not see podcasting in my near future, but I can certainly blog.  Maybe, just maybe, I too can be someone’s invisible weight loss buddy. I say “invisible” because I never spoke to Dave nor joined his groups, I only listened to his podcasts. Dave Jackson, if you are reading this, I am still a big fan.

Having said all that, I will now share my starting point. It’s been about a month of juggling to start. Scheduling appointments, getting bloodwork done, waiting for results, and figuring out what it all means. *sigh* It seems to take forever to get started, but it is also a good thing. Information overload can cause you to feel overwhelmed and defeated before you even start. So this is a good thing for me. As I get new information, I digest it and figure out what it means and how it affects my journey. That has being going on for about a month. A few more pieces of information is still flowing it. Okay, it has been a soft start with today being the 1st official Day 1 of this chapter.

What am I using/doing, LoseIt App, Apple Health, Apple Watch, Blood Pressure Monitor, Glucose Monitor, and Meal Replacement Shakes.

Looking for a podcast to replace Logical Weight Loss. Maybe a magazine about women’s weight loss and one about diabetics meals. If you have recommendations on these, let me know. Comment here or Email me at Mrs DOT GJourney AT gmail.com

For now, this is all I will write. I’m off to the gym. The plan is rowing machine and treadmill. It’s raining here in Southern California, and will be for the next 4 days, so the gym it is. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to the gym. Wish my luck.
